Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
God sees your heart breaking and He hears every prayer you speak. You may wonder if you have trained up your child properly so that he will know the way… know that he is mine. Your child has been mine since the day he was born. Everyone can always do more, but you did enough. He may not be able to see the truth at this very moment, but there will come a day when he will know and understand.
Things may not look as you would like them to, but today is not the end of the story. Don’t ever give up on your child, I haven’t, he is still mine. Keep in God’s Word, and send him the tidbits I lay on your heart. Remind him who Jesus is and as you do, he will remember your love for him. This he will never forget even though it seems that you don’t matter.
Your child knows the truth and he will remember this truth in circumstances that become out of his control. Don’t lose heart, get on your knees and know that Jesus is always with you and He has him protected under His Wings.
