But we have this precious treasure [the good news about salvation] in [unworthy] earthen vessels [of human frailty], so that the grandeur and surpassing greatness of the power will be [shown to be] from God [His sufficiency] and not from ourselves.

2 Corinthians 4:7

We look at ourselves, but we are seeing with natural human eyes and we sometimes wonder “who am I?” Many times we don’t think ourselves as anything special and then we wonder how God can use us. This is not thinking as a child of God. God called fishermen and other ordinary people who would have similar thoughts as us. God uses the ordinary to do the extraordinary.

The things that God has instilled within us individually and what He has equipped us with make us extraordinary. We have a calling on our lives and it is beyond ourselves. God has instilled certain talents and giftings in us in order to prepare and equip us for what is coming.

We need to be faithful to The Call, and do what we are supposed to do while waiting. Dive deeper in knowledge and grow our faith and trust. Continue taking the steps forward in the day to day. Soon we will understand God’s leading when we look behind and see how far we have come. Do the little things that God is trusting us with so that we are ready for when the bigger things come. We don’t need to see the end of the road, we just need to keep stepping forward and sharing God where we are. The greatness of God’s power will be shown from Him and not ourselves.
