“Blessed [forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will be comforted [when the burden of sin is lifted].

Matthew 5:4

The heart is what matters most. This is what leads you, and what changes the thoughts going on in your mind. Everything begins with your heart. When your heart is in the right place, your thinking can be corrected and the whole atmosphere can change. This is why it is so important to guard your heart, because everything follows it. So, soften yourself, be quiet and listen a little while.

Allow yourself to hear what Christ is speaking to you. He will show you the steps to take, the open door that has been planned for you. However, you must also listen to Christ’s correction as well. He understands how easy it is to have a wrong attitude, to say the wrong thing, and to have personality conflicts. Be that as it may, we still need to give these items over to Christ, and we must not pick them back up again, but leave them with Him.

We need a change of heart. In order for this, we ourselves need to be forgiven first. And, for forgiveness to happen, we must repent and not make excuses for the “why” of the situations we found ourselves in. Remembering who we are as God’s children, is knowing that this is expected of us. Christ expects us to mature and to make things right when they are not. This isn’t some punishment, but it is required for our own sake. This will get our heart in the right place, and allow us to grow more.
