For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder [unrest, rebellion] and every evil thing and morally degrading practice.
James 3:16
Far too often it seems like the grass is greener on the other side. We set these goals up in our mind as we strive more and more to have these things of the world. We work hard and wonder why others are recognized and move up the proverbial ladder and increase when we were the one that actually helped that to happen, but they got the credit. Remember who you are, and see with God’s eyes.
Don’t be jealous of others. They are having their reward now on this earth. We must keep our focus on Jesus, obeying what He asks of us. Do not let your aim be to please “man,” because “man” will fail you. Always set out to do God’s will and to please Him. He has always promised to take care of us. Trust in this promise and don’t look to this world.
Our time is coming, just patiently wait on Jesus. For when He does these things for us, it comes with no sorrow. It will be a true blessing that at the right time we will understand and know how to manage properly. God’s timing is always perfect. Just keep looking to Him.
