Am I now trying to win the favor and approval of men, or of God? Or am I seeking to please someone? If I were still trying to be popular with men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10
We must be careful when our concerns and priorities become misguided in our everyday life. When we are out and about in the world errand running, are we being sensitive to Jesus? Or, are we so caught up in our To DO list, this thought, that item, and this something or other, that we can’t see what He might be trying to show us? If that wasn’t enough, without being purposeful, our thoughts will end up, if they haven’t already, so busy and loud that you can’t hear Jesus when He speaks.
We need to get out of our own little world and into Jesus’s. Because we just missed that person who needed a smile from us. And, we missed the one that needed to hear that Jesus loves them. Not only that, but we missed the person who needed us to pray over them so that they know Jesus is real and cares.
We cannot be concerned more with what people may think of us if we step out for Jesus. Jesus wants us to know that what they may think doesn’t matter, we should focus on what He thinks and says about the situation. We cannot please both man and Jesus. We must choose to step out in faith, and not allow our pride to get in the way of what Jesus is needing and wanting to do.
So… be purposeful and mindful when you step out into this world. Be spirit-minded and let Jesus guide. He will show us and give us the words and the confidence we need. Just step out with Him.
