“Therefore, I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life… But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right — the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.”
Matthew 6:25a,33
How do we stop being concerned with the situations that arise in our lives? God knows they come to mind frequently. When the distractions come, and idle time is upon us, our mind wanders to the issues at hand. We must remember God’s desires and His heart for us. We must remember what His Word says. Yet, we still find ourselves once again in this position, this trap, that the enemy has devised.
We must remember God’s love for us. Just like anything else, when the thoughts become distractions, we must bring our focus back on Christ. We need to renew our mind daily. This is why God has told us to get into His Word. We need to remember and bring to mind what He has already told us. That we are loved and valued. He has promised to be with us and to care for us… He will meet every need.
We must seek after God and make Him prominent, then when the thoughts come that don’t fit, we need to seek Him again. Be spirit-conscious each moment of the day and we need to rebuke the enemy when he tries to slide in the thoughts that will distract us. Put Christ first and He will give us everything we need.
