For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
Ephesians 6:12
When looking at circumstances through our own, limited vision/eyes, there is much that we cannot see. The darkness surrounding this world looks like it’s expanding and will suck up everything in its path. And, it will suck up our hope right with it if we allow it. We must fight hard to keep ourselves from the thoughts the enemy wants to strategically send our way. This is where the battles begin.
It’s a matter of our choices on how long certain thoughts stay festering. If they stay too long they will change our heart and attitude, so we must be mindful of what we meditate on. We must push through and speak God’s Word out of our mouth to combat this. The enemy cannot stay if we don’t invite him to. Remember, at Jesus’ Name he will flee. However, we must make a concerted effort to fight him and fight him immediately.
Jesus wants us to come closer, to draw into His Word so we can ready ourselves. When words simply fail us, we need to cry out to Jesus, and He is here.
