What God says is not the most powerful thing in your life. What you believe about what God says and what you say that He says are the most powerful things in your life.
Your Bible can sit on your nightstand, or it can sit in the car seat beside you and it can be full of life.
And God said, God said, God said, and never affect you. It will NEVER affect you until you believe it and you say it.
This is Jesus speaking in Matthew 12. He says, “but I say into you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment, for by thy words, thou shall be justified, and by thy words, thou shall be condemned.”
Now, that’s a powerful, powerful thought. We’re going to give an account for every idle word.
What’s an idle word? The short definition of an idle word is anything that doesn’t give life or blessing.
If it doesn’t represent Christ, if it doesn’t deposit something from the Lord, I believe that’s an idle word.
And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.
