The Holy Spirit is God. On the surface it may not seem important to mention that, but I find that many in the Church…consciously or unconsciously…tend to demote the Holy Spirit to the role of an assistant to God and do not honor Him as God. Even though the Holy Spirit is often referred to as the third member of the Godhead, that does not designate His rank. The Holy Spirit is fully equal to both God the Father and Jesus. The Holy Spirit is God and He has all the characteristics of God. Developing a strong human spirit requires giving the Holy Spirit full honor as God.
