For as these qualities are yours and are increasing [in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity] they will keep you from being useless and unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:8
Jesus’ desire for us is to grow in maturity and faith. He has equipped us, but there are things that we must choose to do utilizing our own free will. Jesus can desire them for us, but some things are left entirely before us and we need to step and pick up the mantle.
Jesus has instilled in us a desire for more, however, we have to seek and know Him in order to discover how to fulfill this desire. This is why so many try to find Him in places where He is not. It’s because they are looking in the wrong place and have an expectation that is not real. Jesus is right here, just waiting for us to come a little closer so we can see Him. He is the only one who can fill that ache and void that’s missing and causing such a dissatisfaction everywhere we turn.
Jesus is calling to us to come closer, and seek Him, because He wants to be found by us. He wants to give us the desires of our heart that we yearn for, but we don’t even know what they truly are. Jesus is here waiting for us, longing that we come learn and grow with Him and in Him. He will be our satisfaction and increase us in true knowledge and understanding… And, we will realize who we have been meant to be.
