…He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will.

Romans 8:27

We say that we want to know Christ more intimately. That we want to know for sure that it’s Him speaking to us and not just ourselves in our own head. However, we don’t stay quiet long enough to give Christ a chance to speak and us a chance to hear. We read God’s Word or a small devotion, and then we allow our mind to wander elsewhere, or we choose to check our phone, email, messages, play a game and so on…

Christ is here waiting for us, but we must choose Him. We have been given authority over our mind. And, we need to step in that authority and kick out everything that gets in our way of Christ. When we search and seek Christ, He is found by us. He is not hiding, just waiting on us to decide what is important. He asks us to come to Him and know Him. Christ already knows us and intercedes before Father on our behalf. We need to search ourselves and give Him the best of us.
