We have overestimated the memory of God and it has hurt us. God has short-term memory and we tend to forget that.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 8:12

Hebrews 10:17
When we ask God’s forgiveness, that sin is no longer an issue with Him. If you are being tormented by past sins that you have repented of, I encourage to reread and mediate on the verses above. Continually command your soul to be quiet. It has no
right to torment you with something that no longer exists.
