Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

James 5:16

We need each other. We were made for fellowship and relationships. Communication is vital to being free and open to Jesus. When we share our faults, and mistakes with someone we trust, it opens us up to God’s healing. This is when Jesus can heal our heart and wounds and where we can press on and move forward.

This is where growth happens.

When you pretend that all is well and keep on sinning, you are not fooling Jesus at all, but only yourself. When you finally come to confess, this is not the first time that Jesus has found out about it. Jesus knows us, and the truth of our heart. So step out of your sin and daily confess so that you can be in a right relationship with Jesus at all times.

There is so much to “sin” than most think about. Your ill thoughts, quick judgment, and harsh anger that may not have even made its way out of your mind. All of these are sin and can cause you to treat the one you were thinking of more harshly and unloving. They may not even know why or what they have done.

So don’t daydream up offenses… confess and pray for one another. Your prayers when humbled are able to accomplish much more than you can imagine.
