Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Peter came to Jesus and told Him that his brother was a jerk (that’s Linda’s revised version). He asked the Lord how many times he had to forgive him.
Jesus wasn’t giving a set number of times we are forgive those who hurt us, or disappoint, cheat, betray or lie about us, but we are to forgive them endlessly because that is how our heavenly Father forgives us. Endlessly. Again, and again and again.
