To grow in our relationship with God we all begin in the same place; we learn to communicate with Him. We begin that process by first believing that we can talk to God… that He will hear us… and that He will talk back to us. Every member of the Body of Christ has the same rights and privileges to communicate with the Holy Spirit, AND to clearly hear what He says. If you are new at hearing God speak to you personally, just begin a conversation with the Holy Spirit. Remember, you want a dialogue, not a monologue, so don’t do all the talking. Talk freely, but give Him an opportunity to speak, too. The voice you hear will come from inside, not outside. An uncomplicated place to begin is to simply say, “I love You, Lord” and then be quiet. If you’ll listen with your heart, you’ll hear Him respond.
