You can learn a lot through others. Don’t be afraid to discuss a controversial topic, sometimes it’s good to just listen. That doesn’t mean you are in agreement… instead of arguing, delay comment until you can focus and go to Christ and find the right direction and approach. Everyone is different and to get another outlook and perspective is healthy. Maybe you have been closed minded to something yourself an stuck on what you feel is correct. Listen and take heart to what Christ may want to press upon you.
There should be some common ground that can be found with anyone that Christ puts in our path. Be focused on Christ and quiet your spirit and listen. Don’t be too quick to respond, but wait upon Christ. When you show respect to others, you will gain their respect and trust in return. This is when Christ can work through you and show them who He is. Don’t ever think that it’s wasted time, Christ can work through any situation if we would just allow Him.
