“But I say to you, love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Matthew 5:44

It’s not easy to think the best of someone when we know we are being treated unfairly. Maybe they’re not even realizing what they are doing… Some talk and complain about you, some others don’t know how they feel, but they are insecure in who they are, or in their position, so they take this aspect and potential anxiety out on us. None of it matters in the grand scheme of things.

The manner in which we act and react is how we show Christ living through us. We cannot be like those others, complaining, and we shouldn’t fight back or stand up for ourselves. Leave that to Christ. We need to just be… just be ourselves and don’t allow the plans and schemes of the enemy affect us. Come closer to Christ and He will help give us a new perspective.

We aren’t meant to be a part of this world, and we weren’t created for everyone to like us. We are meant to be a light showing them Christ in us. So, we need to be careful how we respond so that we don’t do anything that could jeopardize the works that Christ has started. Come close to Him and He will help us. Help us to love in all circumstances, and giving us the strength and grace we need.
