But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

James 1:22

Sometimes you need to take a long hard look at yourself. You want God’s favor and you want Him to use you more, but are you in the right place to listen and obey? Have you looked deeper at God’s Word and let it resonate within you? Are they more than words written on a page? Have you read and reflected? Have you forgiven that hurt? And, have you asked for forgiveness?

All this is part of the “more” that you seek. It’s being more that just a hearer of God’s Word, it’s the next steps needed to be a doer of God’s Word, to be used by Him in different ways. We must take the necessary steps to prepare ourselves for “the more.” Humble yourself and let Christ be seen in you. Think on and meditate on the words that Christ speaks throughout your day. This is so that you will be able to clearly hear Him and recognize Him when He speaks to you.

Be open to the Holy Spirit in every situation and everywhere you step. See Christ and His heart for those you come across and let them see Him in you. DO God’s Word. LIVE God’s Word, and BE God’s Word.
