This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.
Joshua 1:8
And then. God’s Word is a guide for us, a lamp unto our feet. It’s full of life, and promises, but we can’t just pick and choose the parts we want to listen to. We must listen and obey God’s Word in its entirety. Jesus is waiting, listening and watching for His Word to be acted on.
God says, “Abide in Me.” We must stay in His Word and let Him give us a new understanding and depth. He will go before us and prepare the way, we just need to act in obedience to the instruction He has given us. God’s desire is for us to be successful and prosperous. It’s not hard to achieve, but all to often God’s Word is taken out of context, or words are added that don’t belong. Other times, we just do things on our own without taking the time to seek Him and what His best for us is.
Jesus is here as our friend to consult, only He will never steer us wrong because He always has the best intentions and He truly knows the way we should go. So, we need to get more of God’s Word in us… we must prepare the way so that His Word comes out of us for others.
