Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:21

There are so many distractions in this world that quickly take your focus off of Jesus and onto any number of “things.” Whether it’s your children arguing, or the dog getting into things, the cat on the counter, or just your thoughts recounting and planning your day. AND, don’t forget about WORDS… Your own poor word choices (harsh, mean, undeserved) and other’s words to you being rehashed through your mind.

A wrong word from someone, or a word misunderstood can change the whole atmosphere around you, if you allow it. Each of these takes you away from where Jesus wants you to be, a step in the wrong direction. You cannot allow your circumstances to cause you to see with the wrong perspective.

When you feel yourself with your foot in the air getting ready to step off course, go quickly to Jesus so He can help you plant your foot where it needs to be. One step in the wrong direction without a course realignment can take you miles off track in the long run. See these distractions with God’s eyes and overcome them. Do that which you know you have been called to do and finish strong. Stay the course.
